About a day that started as a complete mess

We’ve already told you about our last two days in Toronto that mostly worked out quite as we planned them (well except the 2 hours waiting in the CN Tower). Today was totally different – we had a lot of plans, nearly none of them worked.

So we got up again at 5 so our aunt could give us a ride on her way to work and drop us of at Kipling Station. From there we took the subway to Yonge Street and had some coffee, hot chocolate and cookies at Starbucks. Our plans for the day were as followed:
* visit Casa Loma
* walk down towards Ripley’s Aquarium and walk around there
* Pick up our rental car at around 2:30pm
* Drive to Ontario Science Center
* Go shopping on our way home
* Pack for our roadtrip and go to bed early
Well, things don’t always work out as they are planned. But let’s start at the beginning…

… which is Casa Loma. It’s “America’s only full sized castle” and located right inside Toronto. The castle has been built in 1911 by Sir Henry Pellatt as to realize a dream he had for his whole life: built an Edwardian castle on the top of a hill overlooking Toronto. It did cost 3.5 million CA$ back then and took 300 men nearly three years to complete. It does look really amazing though and we just want to give you some impressions of our walk through.

… to be continued … will be updates with more soon …
